How do I find true friends? I don't have enough?

Nearly all my friends have really good friends, I just can never find enough good ones.

How do I find true friends? I don't have enough?
I ask myself the same thing. I am in my mid twenties,and have hobbies that most people in their 20's don't enjoy; such as gardening, reading, knitting, animal advocacy/Vegetarian, and I also have two step-children. I also have been through a lot more than most twenty year olds so it is hard to find somebody that is mature, they don't have to be serious or anything but just not self absorbed and selfish, I HATE that. The majority of Utahans are of 2 groups either the supper religious or the hard core partiers (I live in a college town), which I want to be part of neither of them. I am sure their are other people but they are sure hard to find. My best friend and only true friend I have ever had lives in California and I only get to see her a couple times a year. We talk every night and that is great, but I just wish she lived closer. I have thought about starting a book club through borders so that I can meet other people. Have you thought about starting some sort of club or joining one that shares your interests? If you find and real solutions please let me know, and while your at please tell me more about yourself, who knows maybe we could be friends:)
Reply:just start hanging out with more people, why is it important to you to find a best friend? just because all of your other friends have best friends? that's not really a good reason, best friends are best friends because they like to hang out and do the same things, they aren't a possession like a dog

I don't know how many friends you have in mind, I do know there are not very many people who will come into your life and stay for good , that is where a true friend will always be.

Honestly, good friends are hard to come by. However, all good friends always start out as regular friends. I suggest you start hanging out in different places, joining clubs, or if you work - start talking to your co-workers more.
Reply:dont worry about it. sooner or later u will find a friend that u feel like u can share anything with them.

find a friend that like u for u. not cuz u r good at someting o1 is or someting like that. most of the time ur heart will show u the way. (god)
Reply:Try joining groups, like work out groups if your an adult, and going to church will help meet new people.





If your a kid/teen join orgainizations at school and sports. Tell them that you guys should hang out sometime once when you become a little bit of friends.

Reply:Just be yourself around everybody and youre bound to find someone that likes you and wants to be your best friend!
