Why Is It So Hard To find Friends Online And Locally?

Why is it so hard to find friends online and locally? I have tried finding friends at church and social events but no one wants to be my friend. This hurts and saddens me:(

To tell you the truth, I would never suggest trying to find permanent friends online. Although there are many exceptions to the rule, you never know what you are going to get on the other end. There are people that have somehow stumbled across and IMED me online that I would never in a million years talk to again ..and honestly wish I had never met. There are lots of weirdos out there, and they seem to get even weirder online. I've seen everything from people begging for money to hypocritical Christians that thought they were in love with people they never knew. Anyways, my suggestion would be to get more involved in things face to face in your community. Try taking up new hobbies or going to a few college classes. Just get out there and keep trying. Maybe take some classes on friendship and dating(they do exist) and then perhaps you will find someone that lives closeby and that has a lot in common with you. Rely on the internet as a last resort, but then again that is just my opinion.
Reply:Well theres a lot of paranoia out ther due to the Media over playing stories of domestic violence and other bad things. Try the personals I've gotten a few GFs like that
