How do you find goood friends that you can really trust and connect with, and have them really understand you?

all the "friends" that i have had ever sice i can remember, have either ditched me for "better friends" or just turned out to be completely untrustworthy. i heard recently that a friend is someone who you can show up on their doorstep at 3 in the morning, with mascara streaming down your face. and you just stand there in silence, and they'll understand. or they will travel any distance, if they think that you need them. or even just talk to you. for just 5 minutes even, without thinking about something else that they would rather be doing.


2 years ago, i went through a rough time, where i was cutting myself pretty much every day, i was really depressed, and eventually i wound up in the psych ward for wanting/trying to kill myself. there was this one girl who convinced me that she would always be there for me. and one night i really needed to talk to her, so i pulled her aside and asked if she could talk for a few minutes. and she said "sure". so in a few minutes i went to find her

hmm....well idk...true friends are hard to find i guess. but if u think you found a best friend here is a way to test it....go see a scary movie wit u at 3 other friends (including the friend u want to challenge) you sit on the end like by the wall...then sit by another person not the peroson u are testing...then set your tester rite beside that person..then set the last person right beside the girl or guy u are testing. try to make that last person a good friend of the tester...then talk and laugh or gulp during parts of the movie wit the person u are by......c if your tester leaves or moves up.....then c if she or he yells at u once the movie is done.....Hey that is how i.......u get the picture...bye

Reply:Don't go looking for one. They will come to you. Some one who is exactly like you but different. I know that doesn't make sense but it will once you find one. You will be able to trust them.
Reply:what you are saying is love, not a friendship. in the friendship relations, both sides should search for his/her needs but in lve it is vise versa.
